PreMedProtégé is an online platform that provides mentorship and support to aspiring medical students, medical students, and medical residents.

Anyone who is interested in pursuing a career in medicine can join PreMedProtégé. Our services currently cater to high school students, college students, medical students, and medical residents.

Our mentor system pairs students with mentors who are in the same or similar stages of the medical education process. This allows for more relatable and personalized guidance, as well as opportunities for networking.

PreMedProtégé emphasizes a more personalized approach to mentorship, focusing on building long-term relationships between mentors and mentees. Our mentors are also typically closer in age to their mentees, which allows for a better understanding of the challenges and experiences they face.

Our mentors can certainly help give advice on medical school applications. With that being said, our service is not one that crafts application essays or improves MCAT scores. Someone in the Contenders stage, for example, would likely be preparing a medical school application in the summer of their junior year, and would be paired with a mentor in our Initiates stage. As an Initiate, the mentor could likely give incredibly helpful advice on what worked for them as they prepared for the MCAT and what didn’t. They are not tutors, but can nudge someone in the right direction - whether that involve tutors, study materials, or even study strategies.

Our mentorship program is designed to be flexible and adaptable to your schedule. Mentors typically check in with their mentees at least once a week, but communication frequency and method is ultimately up to the mentor-mentee pair to determine.

Not a cent. That’s what’s special about our program. We believe that financial barriers should not prevent talented and motivated students from pursuing their dreams of becoming healthcare professionals. Therefore, we do not charge our mentees any fees for our services. Our goal is to provide accessible and equitable support to students who are passionate about pursuing a career in medicine.

At the moment, yes. This is because the application process and required materials for medical schools in other countries may differ significantly from those in the US, and as a result, we do not have the necessary resources to provide effective guidance to students in those systems. However, we are constantly evaluating our resources and capabilities and may expand our offerings in the future to better serve a wider range of students.
